Blueberry Simple Syrup

  • Author: trippingvittles
  • Total Time: 22 minute
  • Yield: 6 cups approx 1x

Description

Water Sugar and Blueberries combined to make a syrup that is great for all kinds of things.  But the one I like the most? Cocktails!!

Ingredients

Scale

3 pounds of Blueberries

4 Cups of Sugar

8 cups of Water

Instructions

In a 6qt stockpot Bring sugar, water, and blueberries to a boil. Continue a rolling boil until blueberries start to pop open. With a Potato Masher crush up and at least half the berries by pushing down through the water to the bottom of the pan.  Let the liquid reduce by approximately 1/3rd until it is a thick liquid. Strain the liquid using a Colander into a large bowl. Reserve The berries for additional deliciousness.  Let the liquid cool and then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. I like to use a Fancy Glass Bottle because it is fun to have out when making cocktails but any airtight container works.

Notes

A few notes this is easy to make you don’t need the expensive stockpot that is linked above to make this there are amazing inexpensive pots also I just was blessed earlier in life working at a cookware store where I could earn free high-end merchandise.  Check out this Stock Pot
