Have you ever been surprised by a drink and happy you were able to drink it. I have on more than one occasion but this past Memorial Day while talking smart and solving world problems  I was lucky enough to enjoy  a few of Jim’s Sweet and Sour Ginger Cocktails.

Picnic Season Officially starts on Memorial Day. The real reason for  Memorial Day is it is a  time to remember all the people who died while serving in our great countries armed forces.

So you may ask what do Tears for Fears, Music and Terrorism have to do with Tripping Vittles a place to read about travel and get recipes for food and cocktails. Tripping Vittles was born out of my being witness to the Boston Bombings.

I lied!! I said we were going to make Shrub recipes in my last post. We will just not today, today  we are going to learn how to make honey water for cocktails and refreshing summer coolers. 

Almost all the cocktail mix recipes we have learned,  from the Simple Syrup to the Sweet and Sour Mix are available for purchase somewhere. The Homemade Strawberry Shrub is no exception.  You can buy these products at a store or on-line  but why would you?  They are easy and frankly just taste better homemade.

Its time to add to our Vegetarian for a day recipe box.  Today we are having Sweet Potato Hash with Eggs flavored with Mrs H.S Ball’s Chutney.

I sit here late in the evening thinking about planning a trip to Walt Disney World.  If you would have asked me 2+ years ago before my visit if I would have ever gone back I would have told you NO!
